Color Burst and painting
I have this great flower I like to use when I want to do a watercolor wash. I used the Color Burst on the background first and got that effect figured out and then I sprinkled the little red on the flower area and added water with a brush. After it was dry I used liquid Pearls to finish the inside of the flower. A Lawn Fawn hello is all it needed to finish it off. Too much fun for me!

Color Burst Brights.....awesome
So I got the Color Burst Brights set and some metallics the other day. What an amazing product to work with. So much fun to use and the effects are just awesome. Watercolor with a vibrancy that you just can't get from regular watercolors. Every single time you use it you will get a different look. It is one of those products you are meant to play with.
The awesome bunny from Taylored Expressions is pretty cute too!

Color Burst and Gesso
Obviously one of my favorite tools these days is the Color Burst inks. This time I used the inks and let it dry and then followed that up with a stencil and some Gesso. Fun effects.

Color Burst Metallics
I love crafty time. Sometimes you just have to get those fingers full of ink and get creative. I took a background piece and cut it at an angle and layered it with a fun pattern. You'll see the other half in a future post. See that awesome shimmer in the Color Burst piece?? It comes in Awesome colors that go with the original Color Burst dry powder inks. Get them all at Picture This in Eau Claire.

Grumplings and an Arboscello tree
Leftover backgrounds and little Grumplings. I used a bunch of little bits from my stash to complete this card. An extra background, tag and tree from the stash added to a freshly colored Grumpling finish off this card.

Color Burst
More glossy paper birthday fun. It's hard to take e good photo of a glossy paper card but you can see the shine in the paper. I used a cute kitty and some COPIC markers to color him in. A simple background using Color Burst is really easy with the glossy paper. It makes for a very different look than when you use the regular paper. Give it a try.

Happy Birthday
More Grumpling birthday fun. Today is my birthday, so I thought it was appropriate to post a birthday card. Love those little Grumplings!

Taylored Expressions Happy Hens
My little chickens. The closest I will get to the real thing. I made the background with my Color Burst inks and the chickens are from Taylored Expressions, all on glossy paper. The Eggs are also a Taylored Expression set but from the "If Bunnies could Talk" stamp and die set. You should see the bunnies on this set. Well, stay tuned, you will see what I did with those bunnies on future posts.

Taylored Expressions Holiday Grumplings
I had a very productive weekend with some friends and I got a lot of card making done. 14 cards and 1 scrapbook page to be exact. We had lots of food and fun and laughs. I used my Holiday Grumplings, some COPIC markers and my stars from the My Favorite Things "Sun, Moon and Stars" die set to finish this little card off.

Color Burst and Unity Stamps
One of my favorite things is a good margarita. Since you can't have one every day a margarita stamp will work in its place. I used my new Color Burst ink powders on the background and an old stamp set that I have in my margarita collection for the stamping. A few bits and pieces of paper and trims finish out the card.

More love
One more Heart card, this time using a more industrial approach. I used my Sizzix embossing folder and an old heart die to cut out chipboard instead of paper. I used some Viva metallics and black ink to rub on the metal finish of the embossing folder. Hard to see the shiny of the metallic in the photo, but it's there. The heavy chipboard made for a more sturdy surface to rub the metallic paste on. A nice grungy look for a more manly card.

Happy Valentines Day
I little crafting love. A Spellbinders heart cut out of red and about 100 little tiny flowers punched out and glued to the front of the card to cover the heart. I used an old Inkadinkadoo stamp on this too. It's nice to get some use out of those things in my stash. This design would make a great wedding card too.

Birch Trees and Deer
This plaid piece of paper has been hanging around my stash for what seems like forever!! I used my Memory Box Deer Trio and Impressions Obsession birch trees to create a scene for the front of my card.

Taylored Expressions Happy Hens stamp set
I bought this adorable stamp set at Picture This a few weeks ago and I finally got to play with it. Such a fun set to use! You get a couple chickens and the dies to match them, plus some sayings and a hen house. So cute! I have been using my Die-Namics stamp set as well.

Daisy, Daisy, look at my garden grow
Pink daisies are adorable with the lime green stems and a vellum banner over the top. I dug out some old brads to use for the centers of my flowers.

Liquid Pearls and Stencils
I made this background yesterday when I was working with my pretty inks from Ranger. I dug out some old stuff for making the rest of the card. The tag is using a Cuttlebug die from an alphabet set I bought about 10 years ago. The vellum is a chunk I dug out of my stash (that I haven't looked at for about 5 years) and my sunflower is a Cheery Lynn that I have had for a while. The sunflower die is still available for purchase. The branches are a discontinued one form Memory Box.

Chevron Stencil
I was using my stencils today with some of those new colors from the Ranger Inks collection by Tim Holtz. Cracked Pistachio is a gorgeous color to work with.

Color Burst
Have you played with the Sprinkle and Spritz fun of Color Burst ink by Ken Oliver? You should! I used a simple outline stamp and sprayed the image with a bit of water and then sprinkled Color Burst and spritzed a bit more water to move the color around more. After it dried I used Liquid Pearls to finish the middle of the flower giving the stamens a 3D look.

Dylusions Spray Inks
I mentioned yesterday that I made a lot of backgrounds in the process of creating the one I was actually going for....well that goes for just about any medium, and this time it was my Dylusions spray inks. Add a cute stamp and you're done!

Feeling Old?
More Grumplings from my stamp collection. I love these little guys, so cute! Love the ColorBurst too. Don't get much time to play with them these days, but in the process of playing with the ColorBurst I made a lot of sample backgrounds for future projects. Just because something doesn't turn out the way you were hoping it would on the first try doesn't mean it doesn't look good, it just isn't the look you were going for. So, I have about 20 backgrounds that I created in the process of playing with my ColorBurst. I added some cute Grumplings and the sentiment stamp and I was don't in a matter of minutes. Get messy and play. Create some future card backgrounds so putting together a fresh new card is only a few minutes away.

ColorBurst
Taylored Expressions Grumplings are so cute!! How fun to create cards with these stamp sets. Just as easy as creating a background using the COLORBURST inks. Every card is a different splash of color each time.

ColorBurst and Grumplings
Another card from class last week. This time I used the ColorBurst ink and some isopropyl alcohol sprayed on to make the color burst, instead of water.

Taylored Expressions Grumplings
A splashy background using ColorBurst inks make this a quick card to create. The Copic colors and my Grumplings stamp set is too much fun to play with. This was part of a class I did last week.

Get Well Sheila
I made a quick card using a background I created about 2 months ago with my ColorBurst inks, a stencil and some gesso.
