I have moved my posts from an old blog to this one and I have moved one month at a time.....I have been blogging far too long to post each one on a separate day. Enjoy the below post for the month mentioned in the tag line.
Birthday WISH
I started this card several weeks ago and didn't know how to finish it.
Then I saw what Barb R from our Special Task Force Team did with her folded card and figured I could finally finish it.
I went pretty simple with the embellishments and made a dudes Birthday card. Plus, I hadn't had my hands on my Tim Holtz goodies in a while, so I opened up my box of fun!
Chipboard: Maya Road "gears"
The fold of the card is something I got off the internet somewhere. It is an A2 size card when folded up.
I cut a 12X5 1/2 inch piece of patterned cardstock and then put the folds in at the 4 and 8 inch marks across the paper. Fold the paper at those marks. The next thing I did was put the cut through the middle . Go in 2 inches from both ends to start your cuts. Now your going across the card will be at 1 3/4" and 3 3/4" and only running from 2 inches in and 2 inches from the end. See the card above for an example of what I am talking about. Once you have your cuts and folds in place there is one more set of folds that needs to go in. These are going to be at the 2 inches in and 2 inches form the end marks. Basically where the cuts start. But you are only going to put the folds in from the top to the cut and the bottom to the cuts. Then you have a flat surface to work with when you add the top layers. I embossed all the top layers with my Cuttlebug and then added the embellishments. A little complicated but the result is different than the usual card.
Give it a try.

Triple Cuttlebugging
You know how to CUTTLEBUG, and you've seen people double CUTTLE...but have you tried a triple CUTTLE?
I decided to see how many times a piece of paper can go through a Cuttlebug folder and still be in one piece....and three is good! My first time through I chose the "Script Texture " embossing folder and inked it up with my light blue Adirondack ink. Next time through was with my "birds & Swirls" folder with the medium blue shade from Adirondack. The last Cuttle was with a border folder and the darkest shade of blue in my Adirondack collection. So I ended up with all my images embossed and inked. To sweet! Give it a try.
The lightest color is a little hard to see in the photo, but works in with the rest of the images wonderfully. A three tone red would be great for a Christmas card set!

New look, new card
I saw this technique on the SPELLBINDERS design team blogs and had to give it a go. Scroll on the blog down to see the double embossing technique with the Impressabilities and Nestabilities..
I will try to explain the technique here too. Once you have cut out your first die shape (the LABELS ONE die) leave the paper in the die and put your Impressabilites plate on the B plate of your CUTTLEBUG, which of course, is on the A plate to begin with. Layer the LABELS ONE die (with paper inside) down on top of that (cutting edge up). Next put your rubber mat on, another B Plate, and then roll it thought the Cuttlebug. Now you have the Impressabilities design and the edges of the Nestabilities design embossed into your paper piece. The rest is just layering.
Give it a try and post a link to your creation here, we would love to see it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUIN!!
To my youngest....
I took some random cut pieces of white to create my "cake layers", inked up my CUTTLEBUG FOLDER and then ran them through the CUTTLEBUG. I used a little ink on the edges to darken it a bit more and then layered the pieces.
Since the card is actually bigger than the usual 1/4 cut card (this one s 5X7) to make room for ALL THOSE CANDLES..... I had to put the back layer into the CUTTLEBUG sideways. Since the design on the folder is pretty random, I didn't even bother putting the bottom half through...it is covered with the cake for the most part.
The candles are cut with an older Quick Kutz die. Did I mention I did these a Long Long time ago...like 6 or 7 years ago? See, you can hold onto things forever and still end up using them!!

Enjoy the Day
Can't see from the photo but the center squares and the sentiment are popped up with pop dots. I have been wanting to try this geometric design for a while, but couldn't find the right color combo. These double sided papers from My Mind's Eye are perfect. They have a ton of great papers to make any project pop!
