Check out the blog link above for the instructions on what I did to achieve the pressed flowers look. Other than that we are layering lots of papers pieces. I chose this double sided paper for the base of the card and for the layers because the color was perfect for the imprinted flowers. The plaid pattern has a bit of the purply color to it that works great.
The flower was an Deep Pink Impatiens and the leaves were......gasp........weeds! They looked better than the leaves from the plant, so I went with it!

Age is only a number....
This is my TRIPLE THREAT card. Three folds, three patterns....three times the fun!
To create the three folds I took a 12X12 piece of cardstock and cut out a 12x4 1/4 piece and then a 4 1/4X 5. I folded the longer piece at 5 1/2' and 10 1/2" leaving the last inch for the overlap. I attached the smaller piece to the larger end flap and glued it together. The patterned papers cover the overlap nicely. To create the larger opening for the gift card I took my label tag and cut the first hole, then slid it over to make the larger gap. The ret is just embossing, cutting and glueing....the hallmarks of any great card.!

Scrap cards
Ever have one of those days where you know you want to do something but you're not sure what, and when you finally do, you end up creating more work than fun? Well, I was creating with my scraps and found I ended up with more scraps than when I started....how DOES that happen?? My solution....put them on the inside of the card too.
Now my scraps are gone (all but a measly little tiny pile) and I have a lovely card to send out.
This design is pretty simple, again with the layers layers layers! This is awesome when you have double sided papers and just enough leftovers for a card. I used up almost every scrap I had for this one....yay! Of course, any papers will work for this design and any theme too.

TEEN Celebrate card
Fun colors and cute ribbon
I had to make something with this fun ribbon from American Craft.....it spoke "teen" to me! Of course, I have a few friends and relatives that will talk your ear off.....hehe
Layers layers layers. I made this non-traditional sized card (3.5X5.25) out of a piece of cardstock that measured 3.5" X 12. I made sure the card itself would fit in a traditional A2 size envelope by folding the end piece in to create a small pocket (perfect for a gift card or some cash!). So the folds are at 5.25X5.25 and 1.5. The rest is just layers and fun stuff! You could use square brads for the fasteners inside (to create the pocket) or other shaped brads....even some of those eyelets we bought all those tools for. Slip the gift card (or those iTunes cards) into the pocket and you are good to go!

What's in the cookie jar?
NOT COOKIES! But, lots and lots of chocolate chips and things to make some delicious cookies, bars and treats!
So, I am doing an ALS walk this weekend and part of the program is bringing a donation for the Silent Auction. My big idea this year was a cookie jar filled with yummy chocolate! Think there is enough there? The cookie jar is a 2 gallon jar!
Now, to make the jar even MORE attractive and thus earn more cash for the cause, I made a nice little recipe booklet with my crafty supplies. I shared my THREE favorite chocolate treat recipes and put them together in this chipboard book.
I had lots of fun with this one. I mean, how can you not have fun with this concept....it will be hard to part with this...but I can do it..did I mention that there is over 15 pounds of chocolate in this jar? Death by chocolate is an understatement!!
I created the base for the album with the long rectangle scallops of my NESTABILITIES. I fit the text of the recipes into the size that would work for the cards and printed them out, cut the with the NESTIES and then embellished it. The cover is made with chipboard with the printed paper glued in place and then run through the CUTTLEBUG. The cover has a few doodads to make it look cute but still be functional as a recipe card.
This idea can be used for many other ideas. Make a mini album of favorite recipes for a bride or new homeowner. Dress up a baby gift with a small album for brag photos after the baby arrives. Any theme will work!

Graduation card

Of course, this card can be made with any school papers. I like the star addition to the edge. Paper clips are my embellishment of choice this week.

Lovin' Life
I have been busy making pages! All this fabulous rain has given me time to catch up on the scrapbook albums....but I still have a LONG way to go!
Ok, so mainly this we putting paper on paper on paper. The only fun technique here is the butterfly. I pu the little butterfly through the CUTTLEBUG with my D'vine Swirl and then dripped alcohol Ink on the back of it to fill the creases. I topped that off with the pearl so that the color wasn't so vibrant and distracting to the photo. Totally fun!! Give it a try.

Simple watercolor
MY materials
I have been wanting to try a watercolor technique with these Glimmer Screens and I finally got around to it. I picked a thick white paper from Paper Cut (White Felt) and then took my Glimmer Screen and tapped the ink blocks on the image, green on the tree top and brown on the trunk. Then when I was satisfied with the coverage I spritzed the screen with the Mini Mister to give it a watery look. I laid the white paper down on the screen and rubbed a little to get the color to transfer and pulled it up. After it dried I used my black marker to give a little more definition to the tree trunk by drawing around it and adding the bark and knot details. I used my "Thank You" rub-on for the sentiment and mounted the card to the base...and I was done. Simple yet effective.
