August 2008

I have moved my posts from an old blog to this one and I have moved one month at a time.....I have been blogging far too long to post each one on a separate day. Enjoy the below post for the month mentioned in the tag line.

Happy Birthday to...

Ok, so I had BIRTHDAYS on my mind....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSAY G.

This very soft  pink card would work great
as a baby card or wedding shower invite or card.
Take the basic card idea, change the colors,
and sentiment and you have a great recipe for any occasion card.

Happy Birthday

Another card using the Ambrosia line from Basic Grey....can you tell I love this paper line??

A simple card, but very nice for a guy or a girl.

Travel page

A simple page made with:

I cut mats for the photos from cardstock leaving a little edge to the top right one for embellishment placement.  I also cut a tag from the sheet of tags from the Teresa Collins line for the journaling...(love  this line of papers!!!)...and then made the simple tag for the location from my CUTTLEBUG....it's not just for cardmaking.  I used the star brad to mark out the location of BRYCE CANYON on the map. Simple, but very effective.

LAKE page

A quick page from the lake

I double matted the 5X7 photo for this one with colors from the Ambrosia line and then layered more Ambrosia papers along the middle and right edge of the photo.  I tucked the Noteworthy paper behind the photo mat for the journaling and then used another tag for more details fromt the trip.  A small row of color coordinated buttons (I got lucky there!!) finish off the project.

Scrapping

This is the fun part of scrapping.  Once you have a page created, you have all these little pieces left over that work great for making cards.

I love whipping up cards with my leftovers and these chocolate and teal colors are so pretty together!

Holy Cow

Another card using the WEBSTERS PAGES stickers.  This little cow looked so joyful and happy to me.  It would make a cute baby card as well.

You can't see it in this photo, but the white swirl part of the card is misted with the glimmer mist.  After embossing the piece in the CUTTLEBUG I hit it with a spritz of the glimmer mist and let it dry.   It added just enough shimmer to the background to match the shine of the sticker.

Offbeat

The tweeties in this piece of paper are so cute.  More fun with the "OFFBEAT" line from Basic Grey.

Adding the embossed cardstock piece to the inside of the card was my opportunity to play more with my CUTTLEBUG.

LOVE my CUTTLEBUG

Basic Grey goodness

I could not resist using this paper from BASIC GREY.  I had to have it.  I made this quick card and a page.  Plus, I was having so much fun with my CUTTLEBUG I kept going with the inside of the card too.

Materials:

CUTTLEBUG embossers: "Just My Type Border", "With Love Border", "Friends Forever" and "Feel Better".
Basic Grey: Offbeat line
WorldWin cardstock
Offray Ribbon
Scenic Route chipboard
Making Memories Brads with brown embossing powder.

I have more cards made with this line, but I will save them for a later date.

Have a crafty day!

And a card too....

Tinkering with the TINKERING INK line.  One more project using the remnants from the project I posted yesterday.  It is so much easier to whip up a card with the leftovers from a scrapbooking page because you have the matching papers and embellies right there already.  Find a card base to match and you have a quick card for whatever need arrises.

It's nice to have a friend

More fun with cards.  These sticker sheets from WEBSTERS Pages are adorable!  The colors are so vibrant it was difficult to decide which color to compliment in the sticker I chose for this card.  The stickers are metallic and apply so smoothly.

PAZZLES PASSION

This is my PAZZLES project for the month of June. I just shipped out my August project yesterday so it will be a month before you see the July project on the blog.

This project was using Basic Grey's "Oh Baby" line with a theme of "simple pleasures".

Other items in the project are the Dew Drops, which i love using too. So much fun to add to a project.  The bottom photo has a close up of the detail in the flowers.

The flower design and swirls are things I had to create from scratch by taking things from clip art and fonts and breaking them apart in the WinPCSign program and then welding them back together again.  There is a great deal of putzy work that goes into these designs, but it's fun playing with the computer.  The bottom photo is a close-up shot of the flower detail using the DewDrops and Fibers from the "Oh, Baby" line.

Missing You card

More new CUTTLEBUG fun

Any sentiment or color combo would work great with this design.

I am loving these new CUTTLEBUG goodies!!

Make a WISH card

Another card using the "Birthday Wishes" embossing/die combo from CUTTLEBUG.
I embossed a 4 X 5 1/4" piece of vellum in the embossing folder and put different colors of paper on the cutting plate.  Several images are on the cutting plate including stars and other word combinations.  The candles were mounted to the top of the card base with the vellum over that, held in place by the eyelets, and then the words are mounted to the top of the vellum with a two way glue.

Simple, easy and you can use a ton of different color combos to suit your needs.  The vellum adds a touch over the bright colors of the candles.

Celebration card

A quick easy card using the CUTTLEBUG embossing folder ...
I took the torn pink strips and laid them inside the embossing folder in the spots where I wanted them to end up on the finished product, then laid the white piece on top and embossed them both at the same time.  i did not insert the papers all the way into the embossing folder as I wanted the top half to be un-embossed. Wrap the ribbon around the top space and stamp a sentiment in the space to the right of the top of the card and you're done!

O' Christmas Tree...O' Christmas Tree....

How lovely is this embossing folder......

It's awesome!
Simply Fun!

I embossed the image with the patterned paper, sanded the raised image to reveal the white core and then misted it with the glimmer mist for a little added sparkle.  I mounted it to the cardstock base and wrapped the shiny curling ribbon around the inside edge and I am done.  Stamp a sentiment inside and send your Christmas card.

This would look great with any color patterned papers...pink patterns would be cool!....or all white, all blue....endless possibilities.  The pearl gems from KaiserCraft or Hero Arts would make a great addition to the front of the tree as well.
